Transformational Gift Serves as Catalyst for New Growth

"We are humbled and grateful that philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has made a $3.5 million donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta, one that will bolster our IMPACT 2025 strategic plan which paves the way to transform the lives of Augusta’s youth. This unsolicited gift will allow us to drastically accelerate the expansion of our services and mission by completing much needed renovations to the facilities and grounds at 3 of our 5 Clubhouses, and rapidly growing our transportation services to ensure that tender age youth are able to safely come to the Club after school and return home in the evening. We are also moving forward with creating a mobile Club to provide services to youth who do not have easy in-person access to a Club site. We have immediate plans to grow both our staff and training to ensure kids can enjoy smaller, safer class sizes with highly trained youth development professionals. We have an endowment campaign underway to support this growth and to ensure the long-term success of our organization. We hope the Augusta community will join MacKenzie Scott in her expression of confidence in our vision, and help us ensure the growth this transformational gift allows remains sustainable.”
